Melanie Charlton Fascitelli is a closet designer. But she doesn't design just any old ordinary closet. These closets are e-nor-mous.
Check out these couture closets:

I could live in one of those. Come on Jenn, don't you get just a little excited looking at those couture closets?

I know that my girlfriend has made this her number one request for when we buy a house... really.

I can't imagine spending that much on a closet. I wouldn't mind if mine was about double what it is but the house is built so I will simply have to pare down some more.
Comment here…
It's there money, they should spend it how ever it makes them happy.

My husband and I had a custom built closet (but not to THAT grand of scale!). Yes, I will admit that it is fun because we had it built exactly how we wanted it and the components can be deconstructed and rearranged to accommodate any wardrobe additions/deletions. That being said, you can imagine how many clothes/shoes we had! The silly thing is that I just never seemed to have "anything" to wear and continued to purchase more and more items trying to make the "perfect" wardrobe.
Now that I have pared my clothing down to the bare minimum (with the information on this website) -- I can honestly say that I am so much happier. I always find things to wear and I enjoy my clothing so much more because I really like each and every piece in my small wardrobe. Things "mix and match" perfectly and I find that I have so many more outfits than I did when I had 10x more clothing. And, I always look great because all the clothes fit well and feel very comfortable.
So, now I just need to figure out what to do with all the empty closet space I have.... :-)
Small Wardrobe. Huge Closets. I thought size wasn't supposed to matter...

PS I think I mentioned once my Mom had a three bedroom condo...and converted one the bedrooms to a closet...just for clothes. Hmmmm.

Lisa- I could live in one of those, too...
Steve- I agree. It's following the trend for custom/designer everything.
JohnH- Yes, they want it. But WHY? Oh, WHY? ;-)
Anonymous- I can't tell you how often I hear this! The larger the wardrobe, the harder it is to get dressed. I'm glad to hear that paring down has made such a positive impact. (Yay!) Let me know when you figure out what to do with all the extra closet space...I'm curious to find out what you decide! ;-)

Sorry but I think that is a huge waste.

I used to lust after such a closet.
now I think, half that size.
I don't WANT as much stuff now to care for as I did even 10 yrs ago.
