And I Thought I Had A Small Closet!

What's the smallest space that you could imagine living in year-round?

Well, a fella by the name of Jay Shafer lives in a 100 square foot home that he designed and built himself. And what's more...he's designed a whole line of homes that are teeny-tiny.

These Tumbleweed Houses are becoming increasingly popular. They're affordable, they're energy efficient, and they are really well-crafted.

Check out the size of his closet:

I love it. The first thing I thought of was how perfect it would be for a college student. What a closet for such a tiny house.

Wow. There are many things that I wonder about when thinking about how that guy manages in that extremely small house. But, keeping with the small closet theme, the closet surely is small, and he must spend almost nothing on clothing.

Shades of Mr. Rodgers!

Small works here. Maybe as a camping/get away. I couldn't live in one...to much stress from the small spaces and feeling confined. And if there was another person...???

There are mobile homes called park models that are right under 400 sf...same idea...but more livable.

The funny thing is that I find it very appealing as a "Batcave" type of office. But to actually live in that small of a space? I think it would feel more like a decked out prison cell than a home. :-)

(Um... not that I would, you know, know what that was really like.)

It may work for some people, probably singles.
I probably wouldn't be able to live in such a house.
I would feel like Gouliver in Liliput Land
But it's nice to be informed of such unusual things.

Hi , Jenn
I had to laugh…the table can fit 4 people around it but it would need to be out in the yard for every one to fit….
